I hver rolle
On my own
Recovering among things you like
Time alone is not optional for you. In it you listen to something, make something, or sit still and do nothing in particular, and all three count.
The space matters more than people believe. Light, colour, smell, the state of the room - these move your mood measurably, and a bleak environment tires you out on its own.
You do not plan. What you want to do gets decided that day, and a full calendar is a weight before anything on it has happened.
And you are strict with yourself. Something you got wrong stays available to you, and it surfaces when you are alone.
Når det går bra
Surrounded by what you love, you develop an eye nobody around you has.
Når det går dårlig
You take an old moment out and turn it over for hours.
Hvordan det oppfattes
You look easy-going. You have the most definite taste of anyone here.
- I just want to do nothing
- Oh, this is good
- I don't know, I just feel like that
Hva som fungerer her
- Notices at a finer resolution than others
- Uses solitude well
- Knows exactly what you like
Hvor det strammer
- Turns over old moments for hours
- Falls behind on anything requiring a plan
- Hard on yourself
Hva som trengs her
- A space with your things in it
- A day with nothing in the calendar
Én ting å prøve
Pick one thing you got wrong today and decide it is closed.
With my partner
Few words, a great deal underneath
You do not say much of it out loud. What you do is remember what they like, quietly provide it, and stay.
You do not assess them. They are taken as they are, with no project attached, and being received that way is a rarer experience than most people have had.
What you do not do is state a want. You keep adjusting toward them, and one day the thought arrives that there is no you in this, and by then you are already tired.
And you avoid conflict. Arguing is genuinely costly for you, so it gets let go, and when the accumulation exceeds what you can hold, you close the whole thing quietly rather than have the fight.
Når det går bra
You accept them rather than improve them, and that ease is not common.
Når det går dårlig
You avoid every conflict, and then close the whole thing without one.
Hvordan det oppfattes
You look fine with everything. You have simply not said anything.
- Anything's fine
- No, it's nothing
- Yeah, I'd like that
Hva som fungerer her
- Takes them as they are
- Remembers and provides what they like
- Stays for the long run
Hvor det strammer
- Never states a want
- Avoids conflict entirely
- Closes it quietly once it has built
Hva som trengs her
- Someone who asks what you want
- Evidence that a fight is survivable
Én ting å prøve
Say one thing you want this week, in place of anything's fine.
At work
Quietly good, almost invisible
You do the work thoroughly, and you are unusually strong wherever judgement about quality is involved. What you hand over is finished to a standard other people do not reach.
You work quietly. You do not push forward, you do not collect credit, and you say only what needs saying.
So the work goes unreported. Announcing it feels awkward, so you do not, and what you made gets summarised under somebody else's name more than once.
Criticism lands hard. A note about the work is heard as a note about you, and it stays for days behind a calm acknowledgement in the room.
Når det går bra
On anything where quality is a judgement call, you produce what others cannot.
Når det går dårlig
You never report it, and the work is filed under someone else's name.
Hvordan det oppfattes
Read as having no presence, when the quality of what you deliver is often the highest there.
- Yeah, understood
- Let me redo it
- No, it's fine
Hva som fungerer her
- Finishes to a high standard
- Strong wherever taste matters
- Creates no unnecessary conflict
Hvor det strammer
- Never reports your own work
- Takes feedback personally
- Drains in a competitive team
Hva som trengs her
- Freedom over method
- A workplace that is not a competition
Én ting å prøve
Share one thing you finished this week. Not boasting - record.
As someone's kid
Quiet, and feeling all of it
You say little at home. Short answers, and you rarely start the conversation.
But you register everything about the house. What kind of mood they are in, whether something happened, what is not being said - you have it all without being told.
What you do not do is talk about yourself. Not what you are doing, not what is hard, so they end up feeling they do not really know you.
And you are holding old sentences. There are things they said and forgot within a week that you still have, intact.
Når det går bra
You read the house without being told, and move quietly when something is needed.
Når det går dårlig
You are still holding a sentence from years ago and have never once mentioned it.
Hvordan det oppfattes
You read as the unbothered one. You are feeling the most.
- Yeah
- It's fine
- No, really, don't worry
Hva som fungerer her
- Reads the house accurately
- Takes them as they are
- Provides without being asked
Hvor det strammer
- Says nothing about yourself
- Holds old sentences
- Answers so briefly it ends the conversation
Hva som trengs her
- Conversation with no pressure to answer
- Choices treated as yours
Én ting å prøve
Tell them about something you are enjoying. Not a problem - something you like.
As a parent
Lets them go at their own speed
You do not rush them. Slow is allowed to be slow, and you do not compare them to anyone, so they grow up at their actual pace rather than at a borrowed one.
You take their feelings as they come. Crying is allowed to happen and does not get interrogated.
Setting the line is the hard part. Saying no costs you, so you give way, and they end up locating the boundary themselves.
And the logistics slip - the kit, the form, the time. Each time it happens you blame yourself for longer than the occasion deserves.
Når det går bra
They learn that their own pace is allowed, and that stays with them for life.
Når det går dårlig
You cannot say no, so they have to find the boundary on their own.
Hvordan det oppfattes
Looks like the soft parent. You see them more accurately than anyone.
- There's no rush
- I see
- Sorry - I forgot that one
Hva som fungerer her
- Never rushes them
- Takes feelings at face value
- Does not compare them to anyone
Hvor det strammer
- Struggles to say no
- Misses the logistics
- Blames yourself at length
Hva som trengs her
- Someone to set the limits with you
- Time to recover alone
Én ting å prøve
Pick three things that are not allowed and hold them even when it hurts.
With my friends
Quiet, and it lasts
Not many friends. The ones you have you keep, and around them you are much more talkative than anyone else would guess.
You do not judge them. Whatever they tell you, you do not flinch and you take their side, which is why people relax around you.
What you do not do is make contact first. They might be busy, it might be an imposition, and the moment passes.
And you do not say when something hurt. You hold it, then increase the distance, and they never learn why the friendship cooled.
Når det går bra
Nothing they say shocks you and you take their side, which is rarer than it sounds.
Når det går dårlig
You say nothing about the hurt and withdraw instead.
Hvordan det oppfattes
You seem unbothered. You remember every slight.
- No, honestly, it's fine
- I figured you were busy
- I just wanted to see you
Hva som fungerer her
- Does not judge them
- Genuinely funny once comfortable
- Keeps friendships for decades
Hvor det strammer
- Never initiates
- Says nothing when hurt
- Withdraws rather than raising it
Hva som trengs her
- Friends who reach out first
- A friendship where saying it is safe
